Raiffeisen Informatik wins EuroCloud Austria Award

Vienna, 23rd of May 2012 – At the EuroCloud Day 2012, the new “Premium Business Cloud” service from Raiffeisen Informatik was awarded third place in the “Best Cloud Service” category of the EuroCloud Austria Award.
“We are honored to receive this award, we have already operated cloud based services for customers for years, such as Elba, electronic banking for the Raiffeisen Banking Group or the Austrian HGV toll system, Go-Box portal, for the for Asfinag; and from early this year the Post Manager, a new cloud service operated on behalf of the Austrian Post AG (Austrian postal service). We do however only provide cloud services to identified users, ensuring all legal prerequisites from data protection to IT security can be satisfied. This means that presently we offer cloud services exclusively for defined user groups to ensure the security of our customers’ data” states Wilfried Pruschak, managing director of Raiffeisen Informatik.
The Raiffeisen Informatik Premium Business Cloud
The new Premium Business Cloud is a flexible and scalable cloud solution from Raiffeisen Informatik enabling the utilization of IT infrastructure resources according to requirements. Intense automation and standardization allow resource requests to be rapidly addressed as the throughput time of server and storage provision can be reduced to a few minutes, so unexpected requests and load peaks can be covered simply without problems.
Provision of the Cloud Service infrastructure at the Austrian high security computing centers of Raiffeisen Informatik allows all external accesses to be permanently monitored and protected. Dedicated network zones allow simple connection of different cloud resources and simultaneously prevent unauthorized access by other users. All data are stored on high performance disk arrays so comprehensive data security and performance can be guaranteed.
The EuroCloud Austria Awards
Presentation of the first EuroCloud Austria Award took place in the Viennese Floridotower during the EuroCloud Days held simultaneously in 28 European countries; Dr. Hannes Pfneiszl, Raiffeisen Informatik division manager accepted the award.
The EuroCloud Austria Awards are directed at providers of cloud services operating on the Austrian market, the best cloud services category awards businesses offering particularly innovative and market-ready solutions in this area; while advantages gained by the businesses through deployment of cloud services are evaluated and appraised. Satisfying the data security, data protection, and compliance requirements is of course a prerequisite.
