Automated Attachment Printout in the Raiffeisen Informatik Output Center
Approach for Cost Saving and Faultless Print Output
Individualized mailings represent an efficient measure to build up and maintain customer relations. However, to be able to ensure cost-efficient tailoring of the mailing to the customers, modern data processing and printing systems are required. Raiffeisen Informatik elaborates here our approach for cost saving and faultless print output using the example of insurance policies.
In the beginning, policies, including cover letter and payment slip, were printed using a mainframe. Prefabricated associated attachments such as General Terms & Conditions and insurance clauses were added manually and followed by enveloping.
Later, data processing was modified to such extent that policies and the appropriate attachments were jointly transferred to one server. Here the General Terms & Conditions as well as clauses are electronically attached to each policy following predefined criteria. The mailings are labeled with a data matrix code, printed using a mainframe and then automatically enveloped.
This approach results in a string of advantages:
- automatic processes replace error-prone manual enveloping
- hundreds of different insurance clause variations are electronically generated "on-demand" and do not need to be purchased in high print-runs from offset printers
- the data matrix code supports realization of mail tracing, completeness inspection and automated reprinting
