Raiffeisen Informatik wins 2008 State Award with Dual Delivery
24.09.2008
The innovative Raiffeisen Informatik e-Government service has won the "Multimedia & e-Business State Award 2008" - 09/24/08
Vienna, September 24, 2008 - Raiffeisen Informatik receives an IT industry Oscar. Last night, during a ceremonial gala in the concert house, the "Multimedia & e-Business Staatspreis 2008" was presented by Christine Marek, undersecretary of state for labour and economics, to the managing director of Raiffeisen Informatik Dir. Mag. Wilfried Pruschak for the new "Dual Delivery" service.
Pruschak: "We are very proud of our dual delivery solution and look forward to the appreciation of our value that comes with the award. The blue letter is history, now we have an electronic document delivery service with which documents can be securely dispatched to the correct addresses any time, anywhere, in just seconds. This is not just a simple mail but comprises the options of all legally secure service types such as official blue and white receipt confirmation letters" says Pruschak, emphasizing the advantages of the new service.
This was the first state award granted in the category "e-Government and Public Services" evaluating the best projects for the Austrian e-government initiative. Raiffeisen Informatik successfully prevailed amongst the 270 state award competitors as the overall winner.
The principle of dual delivery is founded on servicing both service paths - the electronic service via e-mail and physical service as a letter. Letters cannot always be electronically sent since even today some recipients still cannot be reached electronically. The Dual Delivery service automatically determines whether a letter can be sent fully electronically or as a regular mail letter when no electronic delivery is possible.
All documents such as official papers, invoices, paychecks etc. can be dispatched in technically and legally secure form within just a few seconds whereby it is ensured that only the intended addressee receives the respective document. The collection time of the serviced document is additionally time-stamped. Electronic dispatching thus opens enormous saving potentials to senders, saving postage costs.
When electronic transmission is not possible, the Raiffeisen Informatik Print Output Centre handles processing, printing, enveloping and sending of the letters.
